Camelot House, a 4-storey residential building with a central courtyard, required an upgrade to its loft space to achieve a 60-minute fire-rated separation between the loft and the residential flats below. This project involved upgrading 1,200 square metres of flooring using the Intudeck system, a specialised solution manufactured by Nullifire.
The installation was conducted between the timber floor joists and directly above the existing lath and plaster ceiling, presenting challenges due to very restricted access and limited working space in the loft area. Materials were delivered and loaded into the space in a ‘just in time’ manner to minimise disruption and ensure efficiency.
Throughout the works, RAAM’s team demonstrated courtesy and consideration towards the residents, prioritising their comfort and safety. Given the building’s legacy construction and unique conditions, the completed installation underwent additional scrutiny, including inspections and assessments by independent structural and fire engineers. These assessments confirmed the installation complied with the manufacturer’s guidelines and met all required fire safety standards.
The successful delivery of this project highlights RAAM’s capability to execute complex fire protection solutions while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and safety.
